Classroom organization is one of the keys to having a classroom that runs smoothly. When the surroundings feel chaotic then the teacher and the children will all feel chaos. Children need order and structure in their surroundings. Any ideas to help keep classrooms organized amidst all of the supplies, books, etc. that teachers accumulate would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for many ideas, add yours to list below, keep em coming.... Just press easy edit and add your idea to the list.

Great organizational site

1. Color code materials so students know where to return them

2. Dish Pan Storage - each child has an individual dish pan to store crayons, pencils, etc. under their desk. They are cheap & keep things neat.

One great website we were introduced to in our class was CogDogRoo. It lists many ways that you can tell a story. This would be great for kids to tell stories in a technological way. We will post an example shortly, just trying to figure out how to embed it.

Classroom Management Ideas

Do you ever feel like this... We hope not, but sometimes a classroom can seem out control. Many times a teacher will become frustrated and even want to quit if the classroom seems uncontrollable. There are many behavioral issues amongst students which can make a classroom far from desirable, even to the point where substitute teachers won't come in. There are many great educators out there who have found some of the answers we are looking for. If you have ideas that would be helpful to other teachers to manage their classrooms it would be greatly appreciated if you would share them.

Consideration of Special Needs

Students with special needs may require a classroom set up that is either more or less stimulating depending on the need. Also the placement of objects in the classroom will need to be considered depending on the various needs. What are some ways to maximize the learning potential of every student?
